Extended volume capacity Buffer Tanks can be relegated to “dead-value” car-parks or under-basement locations…..or even exterior “below-ground” burial for space saving benefits + extra Peak-Load shifting benefits.

Buffer tanks are always designed for “multiple-verticals” (500L thro. 5,000L Volume) for SST-316

long-term durability & resilience with “by-pass” piping for easy “shutdown” maintenance and/or replacement (these tanks constructed “in-situ” at Basement 3).

Specialist MEP techniques for the ringmain “balanced-low flow” design  & Buffer Tank integration are critical to “protect” the thermocline from thermal dilution (multi-sensored for validation) and data-logged via BMS……this can increase hydronic loop sustainable temperature draw-down benefits >38%.

Passive solar thermal “thermosyphonic” contribution is maximized wherever possible when an exterior “shadow free” southerly elevation is available for Façade Absorbers.

This significantly multiplies the annual SCOP  by increased FREE energy saving benefits.

Where some extra footprint space is available a low cost FForde-Chamber can be Designed …….. to combine an e-Chiller of Zeolite modules for silent, (passive, chemically driven) adsorption/desorption cycles for the benefit of Lowest Life Cycle Cost & longest durability.

Higher volume commercial space cooling benefits are better realized from large canopy areas that integrate “trickle flow” hydronic channels back to the Solar Thermal Buffer Tanks for “driving” an e-Chiller cascade.

At this exterior ground-level location we design for a Solar Fforde-Chamber to embed the ASHP for enthalpy-scavenging + hybrid-multi Ballast for latent, delayed heat transfer to the Property’s interior System. The building’s roof area is not disturbed for Solar thermal but is kept free for a later phase of Solar PV (when the overall final power “Load Demand” has been completely validated) after all sections of Solar thermal & Heat Pump HVAC are completed.

THE LOAD PROFILE AUDIT

It all begins with a forensic validation of the Hourly Load Profile for each sub-component of the System. This is critical to select and configure the Heat Pump/Solar Thermal Absorption to adjust for the seasonal performance realities of the site. A final iteration inputs equipment staging and optimisation for holistic System resilience – to a higher level of Value-Adding.
